Dos

-Take the prescribed medications and follow the direction of your surgeon. -Cooling down the surgical sites by the ice-pack constricts blood vessels and prevents bleeding of small capillaries, which can prevent bruising or swelling. -For rapid recovery of swelling, do the ice pack continuously, and instead of lying all day, walking is strongly recommended. -Making a position of the surgical area higher than your heart could prevent swelling as well. -Elevating your upper body at a higher position for about 2 weeks after the surgery could be recommended for rapid recovery of swelling. -For the high blood pressure patients, please try to get up slowly when you lay down. -You can wear makeup the day after stitches removed.

Don'ts

-Do not fall asleep with an ice pack on your face. -Do not apply the ice-pack when you are walking around the street. -Do not rub the surgical areas with dirty hands, tissues, or gauzes. -Avoid water contact on the suture area until the day after the stitch removed.

Notice

-The swelling subsides slowly from the 4th day of the surgery. -Please be aware that significant bruising and swelling are not showing immediately right after surgery. -Appearance of maximum bruising and swelling after the 3rd day of the operation is a typical symptom of recovery. -Generally, significant swelling and bruising will gradually subside in about 1~2 weeks, and minor swelling takes about 3~4 weeks following the surgery day. -You would have experience of asymmetry results in the recovery period due to the swelling. However, it will gradually become similar once the swelling has been settled. -The results of surgery can't be 100% symmetry since all the people are born with the sorts of asymmetric faces. -After a month from the surgery, the scars could be tightened, hardened and feels discomfort a bit. -The scars may appear more swollen, and they may appear reddish and bumpy temporarily during the recovery period, but those symptoms are all the process of getting the standard shape. -Redness around the surgical sites is a normal reaction after surgery, which gradually faded after 1~3 months. -The recovery period after surgery may vary on the individual basis. -The final results of the operations should wait at least 6 months to a year, and during the recovery period, it should be well managed and taken with care. -Even the surgery is performed in a sterile condition to prevent complications, and infection could occur if you care about your suture unclean after the surgery. -Surgical scars may remain and might require revision surgery if the surgical scar is not healed cleanly by infection issues.
